Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund
Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund is the only charity exclusively funding research into pancreatic cancer in institutions throughout the UK. Pancreatic cancer has a 3% survival rate. While the survival rates for many cancers have improved over the last forty years, the rate for pancreatic cancer has not changed. Lack of research and research funding has been a major factor. Pancreatic cancer is the 5th most common cause of cancer death, but receives only 1% of UK cancer research funding. Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund is a new charity dedicated to defeating the disease by supporting and promoting cutting edge research into early detection and new teatments.

My page:

Hi, thanks for visiting my page!

On 8th October, I'll be running the Chicago Marathon to raise money for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund. This is a cause which is very important to me. One of my strongest and bravest friends has been fighting this cruel illness for over 2 years, and just recently I had the very sad news that another dear friend lost her short battle with this illness just after Christmas, leaving two young daughters.

Unfortunately at present, pancreatic cancer is underresearched and often diagnosed very late, and has one of the worst outcomes of any cancer. Only 20% of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer survive a year, and the 5 year survival rate is just 7%.

Please help if you can by donating any amount, large or small - it will make a massive difference. Xxx
