The National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) supports people affected by rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and their families, friends and carers. RA can strike at any age causing joint swelling and stiffness and extreme pain and fatigue. Around 700,000 people are affected with around 12,000 children suffering from the juvenile form of the disease. There is presently no cure and approximately 26,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. We give support through our freephone Helpline, a nationwide Volunteer Network with one to one telephone support, a wide range of publications and leaflets on all aspects of living with the disease, and our informative website. We also campaign to raise awareness of the disease and ensure fair treatment and best use of resources for all those with RA.
The RHN provides specialist assessment and multidisciplinary rehabilitation services which transform the independence, confidence, dignity, and quality of life for patients with brain injury and neurological diseases.
Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity. As research experts, we specialise in funding world-class, pioneering research at leading universities to find preventions, treatments and a cure for dementia. We believe science and innovation hold the key to defeating dementia and invest in the scientists learning more about the condition and its causes. Our findings improve the lives of everyone affected by dementia now and in the future. We forge partnerships with Government and other key organisations to make dementia research a national priority. We encourage everyone to join us in supporting research and achieving a world free from dementia.
React (Rapid Effective Assistance for Children with Potentially Terminal illness) is a dynamic charity working to improve the quality of life for financially disadvantaged children with life-limiting illnesses living in the UK. Our work is unrivalled by any other organisation and our passion and belief that every child should have comfort, dignity, and the opportunity to participate in life as fully as possible is our driving force.
