Charity

Bowel Cancer UK
Bowel Cancer UK is a national charity with offices in England and Scotland. The charity aims to save lives by raising awareness of bowel cancer, campaigning for best treatment and care and providing practical support and advice. More than 38,600 men and women are diagnosed with bowel cancer in the UK every year and more than 16,250 people die from the disease annually. Early diagnosis of bowel cancer in the UK is a problem because people either find it uncomfortable to discuss the symptoms of the disease or simply do not know what they are. Survival rates in the UK are amongst the lowest in Europe, with 15 percent more patients being diagnosed at a later stage of the disease compared with most other European countries. This is why Bowel Cancer UK’s work, to encourage people to recognise the symptoms of the disease and to act on their concerns so that they have the best chance of survival, is so important.

Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

You might be wondering why it doesn't say donate to breast cancer?  Well I decided to donate to bowel cancer as it is a charity I haven't supported before and I feel that I wouldn't ever want to have that type of cancer as it would be very embarrassing and uncomfortable, indeed!  Not that any other cancer is any easier.
