Charity

Spring of Hope Trust
Spring of Hope began in 2004 when the Founder, Theresa Clarke, visiting rural Uganda from Cambridgeshire, witnessed the abuse of disabled children. Typically, they were locked away and tied up due to the stigma of disability. The charity now works with 500 children and their families to provide education and physiotherapy. It also offers nutritional and clinical support as well as free medication for epilepsy. Spring of Hope Trust is registered in the UK to help raise funds to meet these objectives. The principal recipient of support is Spring of Hope Uganda, a community based organisation (CBO). The Trust is also prepared to support other organisations, in rural Uganda, with similar objectives

Despite both being complete non-cyclists and not having previously cycled more than a few miles at once, we're embarking on a cycle across Europe from London to Amsterdam and straight on to Brussels. Spring of Hope do some truly great work. They live up to their name! Please do give just as much as you can. We can assure you that every penny will be gratefully received by those whose need is so much greater than our own.

Spring of Hope is a community-based rehabilitation non-profit organisation for children with disabilities in rural areas of Uganda. They currently work with 500 children and their families in the areas of education, physiotherapy, raising awareness and income generating projects. Their aim is to see that these children are able to reach their true potential. Before the work of Spring of Hope began, disabled children were being abused, locked away and tied up due to the stigma of disability.

They hope to see children with disabilities fully accepted into all areas of community and family life in the Kayunga district of Uganda.
