United Kingdom Sepsis Trust Limited
At the UK Sepsis Trust, we recognise the scale and significance of the impact of severe sepsis on sufferers and their families. Although many patients return to a normal life, those who survive the condition may experience longstanding physical effects, and some suffer from psychological difficulties resulting from their prolonged illness. We aim, through effort and through our status as a registered charity, to: 1. Provide support to patients and their relatives, including those bereaved by sepsis, through the provision of accessible information and the development of support networks Raise public awareness of sepsis through engagement of traditional and social media resources 2. Continue, via our associated education programme, Survive Sepsis, to educate health professionals of all disciplines in the importance of early sepsis recognition and management 3. Establish the infrastructure necessary to facilitate improvement through our Parliamentary lobbying campaign

My page:

Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

On the 4th October 1993 at the age of only 50 years I lost my Mum to what I now know  was Sepsis. She went into hospital for a simple operation and within 2 weeks had passed away.

I cannot blame the health professionals but over time I have often thought that with greater training and awarneess her death could have well been avoided.

Every year in the UK there are 150,000 cases of Sepsis, resulting in a staggering 44,000 deaths – more than bowel, breast and prostate cancer combined.

The UK Sepsis Trust (UKST) was established as a charity in 2012 with the objective of saving 12,500 lives every year. We are committed to changing the way the NHS deals with Sepsis, to increasing public awareness and supporting those affected by Sepsis. Every penny you donate is valuable in helping us achieve our goals, together we can help to mend Sepsis.

As I train and look to run my second sucessive London Marathon I do so in the memory of my Mum, who gives me the strength to Get through the pain, endure the distance and finish the race.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
