Charity

Waves
Waves was founded in memory of Kerrigan Savage who died in Nairobi in 1996 aged 26. The charity’s work reflects Kerrigan’s concern for the plight of disadvantaged children and the need to protect and preserve wildlife. We focus on bringing pleasure and fun to needy children. So many children never get the chance to be children! We have no paid staff. Our operating costs are covered from bank interest and Gift Aid so that 100% of every donation made goes direct to Waves projects. All projects are currently in Kenya. - In the Nairobi slums we fund children’s trips, holidays and scouting, gymnastics, music and sporting activities - Our secondary and tertiary education sponsorship scheme for Nairobi slum schoolchildren gives them the opportunity to achieve the dignity of independence in adult life - We provide funding for school projects and field trips which foster an appreciation by Kenyan children of their rich wild life heritage and an understanding of the need to protect it.
