Walking With The Wounded
Walking With The Wounded (WWTW) was established in 2010 to raise funds to finance the re-training of wounded servicemen and women and in so doing assist them in acquiring the skills and qualifications necessary to find new careers outside the military. Our ability to fundraise effectively ensures we can finance new qualifications, courses and further education through our First Steps Bursary Scheme as well as via organisations and projects; such as The Warrior Programme and The Poppy Factory. This enables the blind, the burn victims, the mentally injured, the amputees and all the other wounded to rebuild their lives and return to the work place and in so doing provide long-term security for themselves and their families. In conjunction with individual fundraising events, Walking With The Wounded also promotes awareness of the charity, our wounded community and the challenges faced by all those living with disability by undertaking high profile expeditions with wounded veterans and serving soldiers that are generously funded by corporate donors. These corporate sponsorships allow private donations such as yours to go exclusively towards the work we do helping re-educate and retrain our injured veterans. Following the success of our previous expeditions to the North Pole in 2011 and Mount Everest in 2012, this year’s expedition, the South Pole Allied Challenge, is our most ambitious yet, and involves three teams of wounded servicemen and women from the United Kingdom, the United States and the Commonwealth embarking on a race to the Geographic South Pole this December. At a time when so many charities are asking for people's generosity, we are hugely grateful for any donations which are made. Please follow our build up to the expedition at Many thanks for your support.

N. Pole Marathon for Walking With the Wounded

Peter Winstanley

My page:

Hi, thanks for visiting my page!

On 9 April 2016, I will be competing in the Polar Running Adventures marathon of 26.2 miles at the geographic North Pole. I will be one of only a few GB competitors amongst a field of roughly 40-50 adventure athletes from around the globe. I will  be continuously battling energy sapping deep snow in one of the harshest climates on the globe to run a full marathon in aide of Walking With The Wounded. This is a charity very close to my heart and a terrific cause to donate towards. Their mission is  to support all veterans with physical, mental or social injury to gain the skills and qualifications necessary to develop new careers outside the military, re-integrate into society and provide long-term security for themselves and their families. For more information about the charity  please check out their website: .

As some of you may know, I also entered the boxing ring in December to compete in a white collar boxing event. For those of you who attended and witnessed me taking some heavy blows, I urge you to donate for both occasions in support for the this one cause.

I hope you can support me in what will be a hugely demanding experience by donating generously to a fantastic cause.

Many thanks in advance,

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
