DELTA is a national charity supporting deaf children, their families and practitioners who wish to follow an auditory oral route, from birth, through education & beyond. Vision We want a world in which deaf children are able to realise their full potential within their communities and we believe this is best achieved through support to learn to listen and, thereby, acquire spoken language. We believe that the vast majority of deaf children can learn to listen and talk. We believe that all parents of deaf children should be given this option. Mission Based on improving knowledge of the effectiveness of natural auralism, we aim to make a positive difference in the lives of deaf children and their families through sharing information, influencing training, providing support and campaigning for change. DELTA offers: Literature and research on the Natural Aural Approach. Information days and meetings across the country, including our annual Summer Schools to guide the whole family in their skills and techniques. Training courses for practitioners. Advice to Local Authorities and other Government bodies. Information to doctors and other health professionals. Fundraising events throughout the year.

Once again we are running a marathon for DELTA, this time we are exloring the wilds of Florence and hopefully not too many of the narrow streets!
The route is allegedly 'downhill' but it does mention that the final few miles will be through the cobbled streets which doesn't sound like much fun at all...
