UK Youth
UK Youth - formed in 1911, the charity raises young people’s expectations, realises their potential and recognises their achievements - through non-formal education. Its aim is to support high quality voluntary youth work and educational opportunities for young people, through a range of projects, accredited learning programmes, events and publications. It is the largest non-uniformed voluntary youth network organisation in the UK, working with 7000 youth groups, 40,000 youth workers and 750,000 young people. It operates across 40 local groups in England, with national members in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Our HQ 'Avon Tyrrell' - situated in 65 acres of the New Forest, since 1946 Avon Tyrrell has been providing new experiences & opportunities for thousands of young people. As UK Youth’s National Activity & Residential Centre, around 20,000 young people visit each year to participate in training, activities and holidays. The centre provides full-board facilities in the ‘Arts & Crafts’ Grade 1 listed Avon Tyrrell House, and self-catering lodges within the estate, as well as being open to day visits for more local community groups.
