Childrens Hospice South West - At Children’s Hospice South West we help and support children and their families who are living with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and we are the only organisation in the South West to provide vital hospice care to these families. Some families come to us for palliative care, some for emergency care and many for planned respite and a rare opportunity for a break away. But there’s more to it than that. We provide a loving and caring place for every member of the families who stay with us. A place where everyone can begin to forget their worries for a while, be a family again and find expert help and support in facing an uncertain future. Our services are free to the families who need us because we believe that nothing should get in the way of very sick children receiving the very best care. So, with little government funding, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to deliver our promise to ‘make the most of short and precious lives’. Children’s Hospice South West has two purpose-built hospices in the South West. Little Bridge House in North Devon and Charlton Farm in North Somerset. A third special home from home for life-limited children in Cornwall and Plymouth, is due to open in 2011 called Little Harbour.

Ride for Precious Lives 2011

Ride for Precious Lives has been a fantastic event over the past two years raising a huge sum of money for life-limited children and their families in the South West as well as a great experience for everyone taking part. You will visit all three of our hospices, starting at Little Harbour which is currently being built in Porthpean in Cornwall and is expected to open to families later this year. Your second day of the event will begin with a ride through Little Bridge House, our first hospice opened in 1994 in Fremington, North Devon. And your final day of the ride will bring you to Charlton Farm in Wraxall near Bristol before you all finish on The Downs in the city!

Dear All
Thank you for taking the time to visit my page and, as you already know, 100 cyclists will be making our way from St Austell in Cornwall to Bristol over three days.
The sole purpose is to raise much needed funds for THE CHILDREN'S HOSPICE SOUTH WEST who are giving children and families support and care during very difficult times.
The new Hospice in St Austell was being built last year when we visited and this is because of the fantastic generosity of donors like yourself!
Please help me to help them.
