Charity
The Youth Sport Trust is an independent charity devoted to changing young people's lives through sport. Established in 1994, we are passionate about helping all young people to achieve their full potential in life by delivering high quality physical education and sport opportunities. We work to: - give every child a sporting start in life through high quality PE and sport in primary schools; - ensure all young people have a sporting chance by developing opportunities for those with special educational needs and disabilities; and - support all young people to achieve their sporting best in school and their personal best in life. Our values, which are built on trust, integrity, working in partnership and responsibility, run across all of our work - be that with schools, our corporate partners, government, sporting organisations and, most importantly, young people.

Richard Blythe's fundraising page
Hi, thanks for visiting my page.
You may have heard I'm doing some running in 2012 ... I thought if I can't do something in London's Olympic year, then when can I?
I'm running the London Marathon to raise money for the Youth Sport Trust. In many ways I feel quite lucky in that I was given the opportunity to play sport from a very early age, and I still get much out of playing sport today- exercise, teamworking, a sense of achievement and purpose, friendships, the list goes on. I'm sure those you who play or take part in sport will know what I mean.
Unfortunately not every child has that opportunity, and so Youth Sport Trust encourages young people to take part in sports activity both in and out of school. By involving and encouraging youngsters to take part in some level of fitness activity, it not only helps them stay fit and healthy but can build confidence and help channel their energy into something worthwhile.
Your donation would be greatly appreciated, for example
- £10 would be the equivalent of your next takeaway
- £20 is a night out down the pub with some mates (albeit a cheap night!)
- or if you're feeling generous, £50 is a meal and a bottle of wine with your other half
Your donation would mean a great deal to those kids who would benefit from the Youth Sport Trust's work. And while I'm sure it is hard to believe, I'm not currently at peak fitness and have a lot of work to do between now and April- your support for both me and this great cause will really keep me going.
Through Virgin Money Giving, your donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
I hope that you will dig deep to help me support Youth Sport Trust to help kids get the most out of sport.
Thanks
Rich
