Did it, did it, did it !

On Sunday April 25th 2010, I ran the London Marathon... every single step, no walking, no stopping, I ran every single step.  And I Beat the Rhino

I'm now having trouble walking up and (especially) down stairs, but hopefully that will pass in a day or so. The finisher's medal and the memories of a great day - I'll have them forever.

From being cheered on by a pub full of people in pirate costumes, to (accidentally) running for a couple of miles in the vicinty of Richard Branson and pretending all the "come on Richard" shouts were aimed at me.

It was hard. Very hard. I slowed considerably after the 19 mile mark, but I fought on to finish in 5 hours and 12 minutes.

Thanks for all your donations so far.  If you'd still like to pledge some money, then you can. The Iain Rennie Marathon team have collectively raised over £40k and that'll pay for 2 nurses for a whole year.  It's a fantatsic achievement.

Thanks so much for your support.

Rich

Just so you know, my personal reason for supporting IRHH is that they helped care for my mother-in-law, Avis, during the last few months of her life back in 2008.  Our family are still very appreciative of the support we received from IRHH during that time.  This is my way of giving something back to the charity (with a little help from you!)
