Action on Hearing Loss
Action on Hearing Loss is the new name for RNID, the charity working to create a world where deafness or hearing loss do not limit or determine opportunity, and where people value their hearing. We work by campaigning and lobbying, raising awareness of deafness and hearing loss, promoting hearing health, providing services and through social, medical and technical research.

Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

I started out just wanting to get fitter (instead of fatter!!) so I thought it would be an idea to do some running.  But just running for the sake of losing weight is boooring, so I thought it would make it more interesting if there was a goal to get to at the end!

So, with that in mind, I registered for the Great North Run in September 2011.  Figures a half marathon is plenty encouragement enough!

I chose the RNID as the charity to run for on this occasion as deafness and being hearing-impaired is something that has been in my family for a few generations now and it impacts on me, my dad and my brothers to varying degrees, so it would be good to raise some funds for the charity that helps to provide research and services for people with hearing loss.  People with "normal" hearing don't realise just how debilitating it can be to lose one of your senses, and these people do great work to help sufferers.

I would be muuch obliged if you could donate what you are able as every penny counts for charities like the RNID who don't get the national recognition that others enjoy.

Thanks!
