Dressability adapts and alters garments for children and adults who have a disability, and for people over 65. We help people who have problems with everyday dressing/undressing by adapting clothing to suit their needs giving them a renewed sense of self-esteem, independence and dignity. We are the only service in the UK that offers this service. On the high street, clothes are not usually designed for people who have to sit for prolonged periods, or have limited mobility/dexterity and certainly not for people who are much larger or smaller than average. This results in many people who have a disability feeling that their clothing options are very limited and often not reflective of current trends/styles. By designing bespoke clothing or altering the garments our clients buy off the peg, they get to wear the clothes of their choice as well as suiting their own individual needs, for example concealing medical aids or replacing buttons with Velcro or self-sealing magnets. A clothing adaptation for a client will also benefit others such a carer or family member. Many hours can be saved each week by providing adapted clothing which is easy to take on and off. Clients can often find dressing a painful experience, by altering clothing it helps alleviate this problem. We are based in Swindon, but if clients are unable to visit our premises, then free home visits within a 25-mile radius can be arranged through our outreach service.

My page:

Thank you so much for visiting my just giving page. I am running my first ever London marathon for Dressability, my aim is to raise £1,500 for this local and unique charity.

Dressability is one of only two independent clothing services in the UK which caters specifically for the needs of people with disabilities. Any donation made will help make life easier and more independent for disabled people and over 65's, providing  low cost clothing adaptations. For more information on this wonderful charity please click on About Dressability above or visit

I first heard about Dressability through my sister who is a trustee. I really love what the charity do and have seen what a difference these adaptations can make to a disabled persons life in helping them feel more comfortable and independent, as well as making everyday life that little bit easier. I have always wanted to do the London Marathon, it's certainly on my bucket list, and to be able to run it for Dressability makes it even more worthwhile.

Please donate whatever you can to support me and Dressability. It will certainly help motivate me, not just on Marathon day but throughout my training in the lead up to the big day! I really appreciate everyone's support and can't wait for 23rd! Bring it on!
