Charity

WheelPower
Each year, many thousands of men, women and children become disabled due to an accident or illness. Many more are born with a disability which means they need to use a wheelchair. WheelPower, the national charity for wheelchair sport, provides opportunities, facilities and equipment which enable disabled people to play sport and lead healthy active lives.

2017 is marking a special year for me; not only am I turning 76 years old but I have been in the poultry business for 56 years and am looking forward to retiring from the industry later this year.

During my years within the poultry industry I have raised over £100,000 for worthy causes and this year will not be any different! I am hoping to celebrate all these milestones by completing a sponsored 300km cycle for the charity WheelPower.

WheelPower is the national charity for wheelchair sport and they provide opportunities, facilities and equipment to help disabled people lead healthy active lives.

I am hoping to raise enough money to be able to support a Primary Sports Camp in Norfolk. This will enable WheelPower to deliver a multisport event for children aged 5-11 years old with physical and mild sensory impairments.

In 2016 the first Primary Sports Camp was held in Norfolk and this introduced 69 children to cricket, wheelchair basketball, boccia, table games and golf.

By sponsoring me you are helping WheelPower introduce more young people to sport.
