Caring for a child with a disability is something that never ends. It can mean being there 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. Many families of children with a complex medical need or a profound learning or physical disability really just want a break - a chance to do something that the rest of us often take for granted. The Children’s Respite Trust improves the lives of children with profound learning and physical disabilities by helping them to get access to short breaks.

Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
Right now I'm feeling equal parts (very) nervous and excited... let's face it, who in their right mind actually wants to voluntarily throw themselves out of an aeroplane outside of a James Bond or Mission Impossible movie???
But I'm a gal who's never turned down a challenge - so here goes. Besides this is one from my bucket list to tick off!
The first 45 seconds will involve freefalling before the canopy opens and I get to control the parachute for about five minutes (woo hoo) before landing at the Headcorn airfield. It's going to be an amazing experience - petrifying, but amazing, and it's a great opportunity to raise as much money as possible for a really worthwhile local Sussex charity. The Childrens Respite Trust provides respite care for disabled children and support for their families. These are children with really complex medical conditions and need 24/7 care. Most of the time the families are just left to get on with it and manage as best they can. However, with respite care, this can make an enormous difference to their ability to cope.
