Small Steps is a pre-school support service for babies and children under 4 years of age who have physical disabilities. Children attend structured sessions addressing all areas of their development. Parents are hands-on with their children and learn to help their child, directed and supported by a professional staff team including physiotherapists, teachers and conductors.

As many of you know, my son Noah has Downs Syndrome. The condition has meant that Noah's physical and mental development have been slow compared to most children. While Noah is nearly 4 years old chronologically, his developmental age is closer to 2 years old.
Noah and our family have been the beneficiaries of an incredible organization - Small Steps. Small Steps focuses on infants and toddlers with developmental difficulites. It is an organization that is funded only by charitable giving. It receives NO direct government support and must fund each year's operating budget of £250,000 by fundraising. The staff's dedication to and enthusiasm for the children and their families is nothing short of amazing.
I am at it again for 2011. This year is my second year in raising funds for Small Steps. While my ultimate goal is to help secure permanent funding for Small Steps, the current economic environment means realistic short term goals are the priority. Last year with your help, I was able to raise an incredible £14,000. This year I hope to raise £20,000 for Small Steps.

BTW this year I hope to complete the triathlon, barring any injury, in under 2:20 (2010 result was 2:22.32).
