Prostate Cancer UK
Prostate Cancer UK fights to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life. We support men and provide vital information. We find answers by funding research into causes and treatments. And we lead change, raising the profile of the disease and improving care. We believe that men deserve better.
ABF The Soldiers Charity
ABF The Soldiers Charity are for soldiers, for life. We are the Army’s National Charity, helping soldiers, veterans and families from every conflict They risk so much for us, but for them, its "just doing their job". In return, The Soldiers’ Charity give them down-to-earth help and friendship, with no hassle or bureaucracy. Over the last 70 years, we have helped countless people from the Army family, defining our work through the Army’s own values of courage, loyalty and selflessness. If needs be, we can often provide vital help within 48 hours. The scope of our work is enormous; last year our eldest beneficiary was a 108-year-old World War II widow who needed assistance in paying her care home fees. The youngest was a two-year-old child of a serving soldier who needed funding for a specialist piece of medical equipment. To provide independence and dignity for every soldier and veteran is something we are incredibly proud to do. Thats what weve been here to offer since 1944 and will be here for as long as there is a need. http://www.soldierscharity.org

Team Atlantic Challenge's fundraising page

Oliver Clark, Dan Parsons

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/RowAtlantic2015

In December 2015, Dan Parsons and Olly Clark aim to row the 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean from San Sebastian de La Gomera to English Harbour Antigua, in doing so winning a race known as the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.

Known as one of the toughest challenges on earth, made more difficult by raging seas, howling winds, sharks, blisters and salt rashes, sunstroke and sleep deprivation, there is little wonder that a mere 500 people have completed, whilst almost ten times that number have been to the summit of Mount Everest and nearly twice the number have been into space.

Dan and Olly will be challenged physically and mentally whilst rowing a constant, relentless shift-pattern of two hours on and two hours off, using their down time only to eat, make water, make repairs and attempt to catch up on well deserved rest- in a boat not much bigger than a standard family car. The boys will be raising awareness of Prostate Cancer UK and the ABF, The Soldiers' Charity, two incredibly deserving charities with an ambitious, but achievable fundraising target of £250,000. In order to gain maximum exposure and ensure the charities and partners receive the maximum benefit,

Please note that the total shown here is not representative of the total raised to date. The team have also raised a significant sum of money through corporate sponsorship and fundraising to cover the purchase of assets such as the boat and vital equipment - all of which will be sold after the event, with all funds split equally beteen the charities.
