Rowcroft Hospice - Rowcroft Hospice, the South Devon hospice, believes that everyone facing a progressive, life-limiting illness should have access to the highest quality care, tailored to their needs and aimed at giving the best possible quality of life. Rowcroft’s specialist services include Hospice at Home, Community Team, Chronic Oedema Clinic and In-Patient Unit. Care is provided at the hospice and wherever it is required across our 300 square mile catchment area: in residential and nursing homes, community hospitals, and in people’s homes. At Rowcroft a patient’s mental, social, psychological and emotional needs are considered, alongside the traditional medical approaches we use to treat the physical effects of their illness. We also strive to meet the needs of their loved ones. Every year we care for over 1800 patients, relying on donations to provide 70% of our income. Any support that you can give is greatly appreciated.

The Sleep Walk

This years Sleep Walk is set to be bigger and better and all to help celebrate 2012 as Rowcroft Hospice’s 30th year of providing its vital care in South Devon. We felt a bit of a party is in order, so this year’s walk has some disco-fever! Staggered starts from 7pm will let you enjoy the walk, you can choose to finish at five, tackle ten or flourish at fifteen miles; pass the glittering harbour, wander through the atmospheric Kents Cavern (if you like) and enjoy the seafronts of both Torquay and Preston.

The St Austell Bay Coastal Run for Charity is my way of fundraising for The Rowcroft Hospice in Torbay. In July 2012 I hope to complete the 15 mile Sleep Walk with my very dear friend Jane. Unaware of her illness, Jane did the Sleepwalk on her own in 2011. Since then she has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and may well need the services of Rowcroft Hospice in Torbay quite soon.

I hope the runners of St Austell will support my coastal run on 27th May and help me to raise substantial sponsorship. If you can't join us for the event but can contribute here at my Just Giving page your donations will be very sincerely appreciated.
