Merlin: the health charity sending medical experts to the frontline of global emergencies. When disaster strikes, Merlin's medical experts are there, doing whatever it takes to save lives. And when the cameras have moved on, we stay. Taking communities from emergency to recovery, we work together to revive health services in some of the world's toughest places.

@Roxymartinique (aka Danielle Atkinson) is doing the Plumpy'Nut challenge on January 21st for the fabulous charity Merlin.

What is this, I hear you ask? The Plumpy'Nut challenge? What the hell is that!

Plumpy'Nut is a peanut paste that Merlin gives to children who are severely malnourished. Just four sachets a day will give them the calories and vitamins they need to save their life.

The Plumpy'Nut challenge means that I will eat the same as a malnourished child, lucky enough to get this care, for a day.

#Firstworldproblem

You see, the thing is that I'm not starved of food. Anything but, I'm afraid. In fact, I put the 'plump' in Plumpy'Nut!

And while I'm moaning about the queue in the coffee shop, and the fact they've run out of almond croissants in the morning, millions of children all over the world die because they simply don't have enough food to eat.

I get three meals a day. Good meals. I sit there before lunch and talk about how hungry I am. When really I don't know the meaning of the word.

So, I've decided to take part in Merlin's Plumpy'Nut challenge. By sponsoring me you will help buy much-needed Plumpy'Nut for starving children all over the world.

Just £50 will help buy enough Plumpy'Nut to feed a child for 8 weeks - bringing them back to health.

In fact, you've all been so generous so far I've already beaten that target. So, if I raise more....well even better!

More money = more lives saved. You can't ask for more than that :-)

So, go nuts! Sponsor me. Please.
