Porchlight is a forward thinking and innovative charity, passionate about helping people and communities. We work throughout Kent to help the most vulnerable and isolated people in our communities to access housing and related support services. We help change lives through the following services: Help and Advice; Kent Outreach Service; Young Persons Services; Homelessness Prevention; Supported Accommodation; Community Support and Building Skills. In 2008-9 we supported over 1,600 people to change their lives for the better.

5 Day Sleepout
Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page!
Students Against Homelessness are a group of students based at the University of Kent in Canterbury who aim
to:
- raise funds for local charities that work with homeless people.
- raise public awareness about and educate on the issues surrounding homelessness
- work directly with homeless people and responding to their needs.
We have been active for around two years and in this time we have run many events to draw attention to the cause.
These include:
- 2 campus based student sleepouts
- a Christmas dinner for the homeless in Canterbury
- a Christmas shoe box appeal
- fundraising stalls on campus
We also have a continuing outreach programme which provides sandwiches, soup ect. to people on the streets and also
allows us to get to know people so that we can try and make more of a difference in their lives.
Our current major event is a 5 day sponsored rough sleepout on the streets of Canterbury taking place betwee 29th January and 2nd February.
Please give generously it's going to be cold!
