Sam Croasdale Climbs Kilimanjaro!
Hi, thanks for having a look at my page!
I am climbing Mt Kilimanjaro this July* in order to raise some money for Childreach, so any support you can give me would be extremely appreciated. The scheme I am climbing with targets a £2440 fundraising total, but some of this goes towards paying for the costs of actually getting me to the mountain and up and down it. Due to this, I am going to try and cover the personal costs in the total from my own income. It will be tough, being a penniless student, but it is something I believe is fair.
Childreach work in genuine partnership with local communities in the developing world to help improve children’s access to healthcare, education and human rights. They operate and support projects in Tanzania, Ghana, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Bangladesh. I will personally be visiting some places in Tanzania that have been helped by Childreach's efforts.
I am not sure what I am going to be able to do whilst up a mountain, but if possible I am going to be looking to making a video-diary that you can view upon my return, and if I can sort out the logistics, I will be looking to tweet personal updates and pictures all throughout the trip.
In addition to personal donations and sponsoring, I will also be looking to put on some gigs to help raise money, both in Northampton and in Leeds, so if you see me promoting those it would mean a lot if you could attend.
Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. Virgin doesn't take a cut of any money you give, so 100% goes to my fundraising efforts. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
*definitely July, not December as the event details say. There is more than one trip to Tanzania, and all are finished by this date.
