Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on HemiHelp's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations. I am going to get great satisfaction in running the 2010 London Marathon to help raise much need donations for HemiHelp. HemiHelp is a small but growing charity providing support for children with hemiplegia, their families and health care professionals. Without the support of people like yourselves they will not be able do this (for more info on HemiHelp see below). Our youngest daughter Megan has right sided hemiplegia (a form of cerebral palsy) and as a family we get a lot of support from HemiHelp. As this page evolves you will be able to see photos of Megan and you will not fail to notice how happy she is. The work that HemiHelp do contributes to her happiness - help make this continue for her and all the other children with her condition. I am asking you to spare a few minutes of your time to donate and in return I will donate a few hours (or less I hope!) of my time to run, which will help those who give their all for this valuable charity. Every penny we can raise together will go towards the following: £10: help cover the cost of running the helpline for 1 week £25: pay for a selection of percussion instruments for a music workshop £50: pay for a set of stabilisers, helping a child with hemiplegia learn to ride a bike £100: cover the cost of a training course for a helpline volunteer £200: pay for a home visit to 2 families struggling with hemiplegia £500: help to pay for a movement workshop £2500: help HemiHelp run a conference for parents of children with hemiplegia £4000: pay for an edition of the HemiHelp magazine - a lifeline for members £10000: could pay for a "Try It" Activity Day for children with hemiplegia PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME RAISE AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE FOR THIS IMPORTANT CHARITY WHICH IS GOING TO PROVIDE ONGOING SUPPORT TO MY DAUGHTER AND MANY OTHER CHILDREN WITH HEMIPLEGIA. Hemihelp Hemiplegia is a neurological condition that weakens one side of the body and affects one child in a thousand. It is sometimes described as a form of cerebral palsy and the effects are similar to those of a stroke. HemiHelp is a membership organisation offering information and support to children and their families affected by hemiplegia.
