The Shooting Star Children's Hospice (Old Account)
Shooting Star House is a very special place, a real home-from-home for the children we are privileged to care for. We provide essential care for children with a life-limiting condition and offer invaluable support for the whole family, completely free of charge, 365 days a year. Our fundamental Care Services include respite care, both at the hospice and in the child’s own home, specialist end of life care and bereavement counselling. There are some wonderful facilities for our families to enjoy, including a hydrotherapy pool, a multi-sensory room and specifically adapted play equipment, both indoors and outdoors. With no long-term statutory funding, we rely upon voluntary fundraising and donations to provide the £3 million needed each year to maintain our Care Service, supporting families who find themselves in unimaginable circumstances.
Only 0 days to go!

Hi, Sebastian our second son (aka Little Bean), died 29th April after a long 4 month battle with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1.

Andy (Sebastian's Dad) + friends Simon Gallant, Simon Thomas, Peter Oliver, John Poyton and Jonathan Barks - Team Sebastian - are running the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise money for the Shooting Star Children's Hospice in Hampton, Surrey.

During Sebastian's illness and up to his death we were looked after as a family by the most exceptional children's hospice, Shooting Star.

The Shooting Star Children's Hospice is a charity and has to raise every penny it needs (about 3 million a year) to provide this 24hr palliative care for families who's children are affect by a life limiting conditions.

Some of the families we met during our time at Shooting Star House have needed and will continue to need this specialised palliative care and extending support in the community for years as their children battle life limiting conditions, sometimes into their teens.

We aim to raise as much as possible to help ensure Shooting Star's future ability to support families like ours (which they continue to support past his death) and as a way to celebrate Sebastian's short life.

Heart felt thanks for all your support and a huge thank you for any donations.

Thanks again for visiting our page'

Andy
