My page:

Thank you so much for visiting my page, it means a lot that you have even stubbled upon this page so thank you already. I have decided to be brave and run this years London Marathon 2017! Ahhhhhhh!! I will be running in memory of my dad, Brody Pond who passed away in 1995 from a sudden asthma attack. I was only 5 years old at the time and my brother Russell was 7 years old when asthma took our dad from us. It was August and the middle of the school summer holidays when he died. We had spent a lovely day at the beech as a family Dad, Mum, Russ and me but little did we know that our lives would change forever overnight.

Dad had a sudden attack that night while Russell and I were asleep in bed and even though an ambulance arrived to rush him to hospital it was sadly too late. I am a severe asthma suffer myself and know how vital it is to manage the condition. I know how it feels when a sudden attack happens. It's such a strange feeling as you suddenly just become very weak, lifeless and even walking up the stairs is impossible as you have no air in your lungs and it really does just happen all of a sudden which is very scary. I try my best to manage my asthma by staying fit and healthy working as a professional dancer but by also regularly taking my medication. The older I get, the more I understand how important your daily inhalers are in keeping your asthma under control. However, I am still so shocked and confused at how this disease/ condition can take someone's life. I try to comprehend that this has happened to me but it just seems to make no sense at all.

Friends and family, people of Norwich City and Norwich Market would all remember my dad as a larger than life character and the life and soul of any party. Everyone seemed to know of him or have a story to tell you about him and he could make anyone smile with his charm, charisma and laughter. Eventhough I was very young when he died I still have wonderful memories of Dad. From the games we played, the antics we got up to when mum was out and the bed time stories he made up that made me cry with laughter. He was a truly wonderful father and I wish with all my heart he was still with us today. I hope and pray that his memory lives on and that we make him proud everyday. I'm doing this for you dad and running for asthma uk means the world to me. I want to do anything I possible can to help raise awareness and money for this charity so other families and asthma suffers don't have to experience what we have. I want to change asthma sufferers lives and if running 26 something miles can help do that then why not ey?! I feel asthma isn't considered a dangerous or deadly disease to the general public so I want to do all I can to help.

I am so grateful that you have been reading my page and would loveeeeee you to help me achieve my fundraising goal and give me that little extra boost I most certainly need to get round London in April. I'm starting to get very scared but any donation that you are happy to make will be absolutely incredible and I will be so so grateful.

Thank you again, I can't thank you enough.

lots of Love Sian xxxxx
