Simplicio Bhebhe

Charity

The Durham Palestine Educational Trust
Started in 1984, this charity aids the social and economic development of Palestine by offering scholarships for young Palestinians to study for Masters degrees at Durham University. The skills and experience they gain in England will transform the lives of countless Palestinians when they return home. We have no paid workers or administrative expenses so every penny you donate is guaranteed to go to supporting Palestinian students. Two scholarships a year cost £44,000 but Durham University generously waives the tuition fees of about £22,000. The rest is raised by individual donations and fund-raising events. Help us to bring hope to people who often think that the world has forgotten them.

Thank you very much for visiting my page. Here, you can sponsor me for the Durham Palestine Educational Trust Sponsored Walk i participated in on the 27th June in Blanchland. I would really appreciate anything you donate.

I am from Zimbabwe and I am the Ruth First Educational Trust Scholarship student for this year. In this walk, i wish to raise funds for the Ruth First Educational Trust (RFET)scholarship (a partner to the Durham Palestine Educational Trust (DPET) sponsoring students from Southern Africa). Anything I raise through this walk therefore, will be transferred to the Ruth First Educational Trust. I cannot begin to explain how much scholarship initiatives like the DPET and the RFET have helped brilliant students from underprivilleged backgrounds and this is all possible through your kind support. Despite being hamstrung by lack of expertise and walking skills, I managed to finish the 12 miles walk and here you see the picture of me arriving at the finishing point. I thank all those who have donated to this cause and to those who could not do so be fore the walk, you can still make your donations on this page as it remains operational for a little while longer. Please let your friends know and encourage them to donate. Even a little will go a long way. THANK YOU ALL!!!

Donating thorugh Virgin Money Giving is quick, easy and totaly secure. the Trust will get the money quickly and if you are a UK taxpayer, Virgin makes sure that 28% in Gift Aid is added to your donation
