Christian Blandford Fund
The aim of the Christian Blandford fund is to raise money for hospitals where sick children are treated. Often treatment is given under a "joint care" program where a specialist hospital such as Great Ormond Street or The Royal Marsden provides the main treatment and the local hospital is used if, for example, a child gets an infection. The specialist hospitals are usually far more comfortable and well equipped than the local NHS hospitals mainly due to extra funds from government and charity. We have chosen to raise money for local hospitals as we discovered during Christian's treatment that they needed it more.

Hi, thanks for visiting my page.
On the May Bank Holiday weekend, 2017 I will attempt to complete the London 2 Brighton Challenge - 100km continuous one-day challenge with Lauren Thompson. We aim to jog as much as possible, walk some of it, and possibly crawl if necessary when my old knees give out!
While Lauren is fundraising for Great Ormond Street, I will be fundraising for The Christian Blandford Fund.
Christian is the exceptionally courageous son of my equally brave childhood friend, Claudia Blandford (nee Parish) and her husband Peter.
Christian was diagnosed with a clear cell sarcoma of the kidney, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer, in January 2005 when he was just 18 months old. After a secondary diagnosis, treatment, relapses and more treatment, Christian has now been out of remission since September 2012.
The aim of the Christian Blandford Fund is to improve the comfort of children and their families, particularly those affected by cancer, during prolonged stays in local NHS hospitals.
I would be really grateful if you could sponsor me for this event for such an amazing cause, inspired by an amazing boy.
BLURB: Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
