Staceyellison's fundraising page
Hi, thanks for visiting my page.
So...what is this '3peaks4Dalits' Challenge for then?
It's simple really - we're attempting to climb the 3 highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in around 24 hours.
Okay, so maybe it's not quite that simple! They're the tallest ones right, so it's a lot of hard walking! But, the 3 mountains aren't too close either, so there's a lot of driving to be done too. So why are we doing this?
We are aiming to raise enough money - our target is £30,000 - to support the work of building schools in India for the Dalit community. My personal target is £300+.
250 million people in India (that's roughly four times the population of the UK) are victims of a system that means they are denied access to many of the basic rights that we all take for granted. 15 million children are bonded in labour - in other words, modern day 'slavery'. Please check out the short video on our website www.cambrayfc4dalits.com which provides a graphic portrayal of the issues.
The good news is - there is a way out of the cycle of poverty, discrimination and exploitation! By providing the Dalit children with access to education.
So, if you think you can help, why not donate something here, right now!
All donations will be quickly processed and passed to RED International. Virgin Money Giving are a non profit organisation and will claim gift aid on the charity's behalf.
I would really appreciate any support you can give and particularly thank you for any donations you might feel moved to make.
This is a tough challenge, both physically and mentally, but to make a difference to the whole community... Now that is worth doing!
