Our vision is of a world where there are no street children, where families are restored, those who are disadvantaged have choices and hope and all children have a voice. Our mission is to bring lasting and positive change to the lives of street children, street working children and those at risk of becoming so, through front line work, prevention and advocacy, being a facilitator and enabler, galvanising people and resources in the UK, Latin America and worldwide.

Pedro & Juanita Thorn's fundraising page
Hi,
Thanks for visiting Pedro & Juanita's (AKA Steve & Suzie) Thorn's London Marathon 2012 fundraising page.
Together we aim to raise £4,000 for Toybox to continue it's amazing work with the street children of Latin America. Steve has seen at first hand the vital work that Toybox's funds enable in Guatemala, El Salvador and Peru. It quite literally changes lives.
In terms of present fitness, neither of us have run a marathon before, and Suzie has never run any distance at all (apart from home to Ashwell Bakery for eclairs near closing time).
At the time of the event we will have a combined age of 91 years. Suzie has made much of the effort to bump the average up to this level.
Steve managed to (literally) stagger across the line of a half-marathon as the first, ill-prepared, training exercise in September 2011 (see picture 2nd from right) in the quite pathetic time of 2hr 59mins. He was unable to rise from a chair unaided for some time after.
In true Latin American style we will be running as Pedro & Juanita. Wardrobe advice is appreciated.
