Hi,  welcome to the Bamboozle Bikers team, which comprises Steve, Dave, Chris, Rich, Tom and Hilton, thanks for visiting our page. They are doing this Bike Ride from Lands End to Leicester (350 miles over 5 days) to raise serious money for a special needs theatre group called Bamboozle.  They are just 6 ordinary guys who want to make a difference, for some really special kids.

Bamboozle work with complex special kids, in a sensory theatre based environment, to help them interact and communicate with the world. Alot of the kids are at the extreme ends of what ever spectrum they sit on, be it Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome etc, and they can be some of the most difficult to reach. But somehow, with their non judgemental, relaxed, multi-sensory, musical work , they do it, brilliantly!!!

My daughter, Lily, is one of these children, she suffers severe Cerebral Palsy with global severe learning difficulties. Her difficulties are far too numerous and complex to describe on this page. But, despite all her global problems, Lily, is desperate to communicate with the world, but she is trapped in a body that deprives her from doing so easily. You have to really want to connect with a child like Lily, and it takes time. Which sadly, in todays society, lot's of people don't have the patience to do.

Luckily for her though, she has been involved with Bamboozle for the last 6 years and has benefitted from their amazing work. They give her, and children alike, oodles of time to digest and her face lights up when she hears their songs, and gets involved in their amazing stories and settings. The 3 days in the summer holiday she has with Bamboozle are the highlight of her year. They have a unique ability of presenting experiences to her in a way that she is able to enjoy, relax, and ultimately, then join in and communicate.

Bamboozle also offers support to the siblings of these kids. Running sessions that improve their confidence, build friendship groups and enable the family to do activities together.

This year is the first in many that  Bamboozle will not be able to offer these families a programme of activities, due to normal funding avenues receiving less money.  With your help we want to be able to ensure these often isolated and lonely families keep on being enriched with the magic of Bamboozle.
