Hampers of Hope
Hampers of Hope is a Christian charity for the relief of poverty through the provision of emergency food support and practical help to restore dignity and revive hope in North-East Cheshire. Through our foodbank, we provide 3-5 day food hampers to people and families in crisis who are referred to us by front-line care workers and professionals. Hampers of Hope is one of a small number of foodbanks given references direct from Cheshire East Council where they identify families in need. Food hampers are given without prejudice or judgement to men women and children for a limited period in order to assist them in dealing with the crisis. Over 60% of those we help are children. We believe passionately that our foodbank must be about much more than applying a sticking plaster to a problem. If there is no food on the table, it is usually a symptom of a more fundamental issue in the household. Our volunteers are trained to build relationships with the people that they visit. It provides the opportunity to discern what further support may be needed in order to raise people out of poverty, restore their dignity and enable them get out of their crisis. Hampers of Hope therefore provides a number of additional services. We are able to provide one-off “gifts of kindness”. These may not be expensive but can make a massive difference at a time of crisis. This can range from providing the correct baby milk and nappies to supplying a cooker or freezer. Hampers of Hope now offers, in conjunction with Christians Against Poverty (CAP), money management courses. These take place in local children’s centres and churches and are led by a qualified money coach. We have recently extended our services further by offering job clubs to support those seeking employment. These services are all part of our aim which is not only to provide emergency food support but to relieve poverty in North East Cheshire.

My page:

Hi, thanks for visiting my page.  Hampers of Hope is a great charity helping people in need in our local community in a variety of different ways. As well as providing food hampers to people who need them, they also offer debt counselling, help with job applications, and basic computer and cooking skills. They do all this in the context of sharing the Love of God with people in a practical and authentic way. They do a fantastic work and I'm running this race in London to raise lots of money for them. Please do donate if you can. Find out more about them by clicking on their banner on this page.
