Charity

Blue Sky Autism Project
We are a charity providing specialist therapy services for pre school children aged between 12 months and 5 years. We have 2 centres, one in London (Holloway Road) and one in Stirling (central Scotland). We cater for children who either have a diagnosis of Autism or who have been identified as having developmental delay including GDD, PDD-NOS, specific language disorders and/ or speech delay. We are a unique and innovative service and the only one in the UK to offer evidence based approaches such as Pivotal Response Therapy (PRT). We provide a range of services including home based programmes, parent training, training for early years professionals and small group therapy classes. We have been up and running now for 7 years and are still almost completely reliant on donations and fundraising. Please help us to keep going! We do a really good job- just ask our children!

Alan & Rex: The Final Munro

Fundraisers:
Alan Stewart, Rex Porter

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/THEFINALMUNRO

This is Emma. She is 2 and has recently been diagnosed with autism.

Emma LOVES to climb.

It is therefore fitting that Emma's grandpa, Alan Stewart and Rex Porter are climbing THE FINAL MUNRO for Emma.

After 30 years of hill-walking and 281 Munros* already bagged, on the 27th October 2012, Alan & Rex will scale their final Munro, Aonoch Mor, along with family & friends. They are using this occasion to raise funds for Speur Ghlan Early Intervention Service, a small Scottish charity supporting young children with autism, including Emma.

This fantastic wee charity provides the early intervention approach advocated by, but not delivered by the NHS. They provide a programme of play-based therapy tailored specifically to the needs and strengths of the child which will encourage communication, interaction, language and play. In addition, they provide training and support to families to empower them to support and work with their child at home.

Please help us raise much needed funds for Speur Ghlan so they can continue their fantastic work with children across Scotland whose needs are not being met elsewhere.

Thanks in advance

Alan & Rex

*For those of you not in the know, a Munro is a mountain in Scotland over 3000ft. There are 282 of them.
