Action Against Cancer
Action Against Cancer funds the development of cures for cancer at Imperial College, Hammersmith Hospital, led by world-renowned oncologist, Professor Justin Stebbing. The groundbreaking programmes that we fund focus on developing new diagnostics and treatments to improve the survival prospects and quality of life for millions of cancer sufferers worldwide.
The Dransfield Foundation
The Dransfield Foundation was set up in 2014 with the primary aim of supporting projects, charities and organisations focussed on helping children and young people. The Foundation offers grants and donations to organisations as well as individual children and young people under the age of 18 who may be disadvantaged by ill health or terminal illness. Grants are also available to children and young people who may not have access to funding, to allow them to take part in group led educational projects such as the study of music or sport. Support for research projects helping to identify the effectiveness of treatment and promoting the longer term health outcome of children and young people are also supported through the foundation.

Thank you for visiting our page.

It is now ten years since we first set out in 2007 on the first leg of our annual charity bike ride from London to Paris and we’ve kept up the cycling and more importantly the fundraising ever since.

Over the years we have ridden 3,700 miles across Europe and in September we will be adding to that tally with a further 387 miles riding from Copenhagen to Oslo. 154 riders have joined us on one or more legs of the tour and we’ve ridden through ten countries so far through Europe.

Our 10th anniversary ride will set off from Copenhagen on September 4th and myself and eight other middle aged cyclists will arrive in Oslo on September 8th having covered nearly 400 miles and some very tough climbs through two countries.

This year we are supporting two charities which are very close to our hearts; they are Action Against Cancer and The Dransfield Foundation.

Through the Dransfield Foundation we are able to support many smaller charities and groups which are aimed at helping children who suffer terminal or life limiting conditions and illnesses or who have been disadvantaged by their circumstances in life. We aim to help youngsters in those communities in which our riders live and work and always to direct funds to the services and not to staffing and admin fees.

Our other charity Action Against Cancer is one of the smaller cancer charities in the UK but it funds some fantastic ground breaking research and treatment carried out at Imperial College in London.

We hope to be able to hang up our cycling shoes in 2020 when our Tour of Europe finishes back in London where we started all those years ago in 2007 – in the meantime we are determined to keep going and support these fantastic causes and we hope that you in turn will help us with our endeavours.

We hope you can help us to make 2017 our most impactful year yet – we have raised £436,000 in the last ten years and we would love to get close to the £500,000 mark in our 10th anniversary year.

Thank you!
