Etape Loch Ness 2015

My page:

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for the generous support you have given me in training for and taking part in the the Etape Loch Ness. To those who donated anonymously, you have the advantage of me - how will I know who to buy a pint, coffee or cupcake for?

The event was a wonderful experience, apart from one mega crash in which my rear wheel blew out causing a slide and taking out another cyclist. We were both shaken but fine. The motorcycle mechanic team had me back in the race in under 10 minutes.

The stats for this race are hilarious. Apparently I reached 59.8kmh (37.5mph -yikes.... I didn't think my old bike could go that fast!!!) and maintained a faster pace over the last quarter than any other part of the race. For those of you who like such things, the race stats are here:
Thanks again for all your support - it means a lot to me and to both Asthma UK and Diabetes UK

Dear Friends

On April 26th I will be on my bike attempting the Etape Loch Ness Bike race (66 mile/105km) to raise money for Asthma UK and Diabetes UK. Despite having an aggravation of an old ACL knee injury at the end of March, I've had a great three weeks training since then despite residual stiffness in the leg. Although running is completely off the cards for the moment, I've covered some 550km in a mix of road and mountain biking since 30 March and I'm now looking forward to a relaxing week before the event. Thank you all for your support, it is greatly appreciated.
