MACS (Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia and Coloboma Support)
MACS ( was formed in 1993, by a group of parents, all of whom had children with microphthalmia (small formed eyes), anophthalmia (no eyes) and coloboma (sight problems). Until then, most families had no contact with other children with these conditions, nor the opportunity to meet, support and learn from each other. MACS is helping to change all that. MACS is a Registered Charity in the UK and is run by volunteer parents with children who have the eye conditions, by young people who are directly affected and a small staff team of three. Mutual support, from people who know what you are experiencing, either as a parent or young person, is something that we passionately believe in. We have come a long way but there is still a lot more to be done to achieve better understanding of the eye conditions, to fully support those affected by these conditions, and to improve opportunities for people with Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia, Coloboma. Thanks for helping us to achieve this.

My page:

Thank you for visiting the 3 MACSketeers fundraising page!

We are husband and wife team; Judy and Simon Stevens and our very good friend; Carly Gunn. Together, we are running the 2015 Virgin London Marathon in support off MACS (Micro and Anophthalmic Children’s Society). This amazing charity supports the families of children who are born without eyes or with underdeveloped or cleft eyes, providing guidance, research, respite holidays and grants to help provide a more independent lifestyle.

Seasoned marathoner Simon is tackling his 12th London marathon and he’s hoping to encourage, cajole, drag or carry virgin marathon runners Judy and Carly round the full 26.2 mile course! In the words of Alexandre Dumas; “All for one, one for all” - in support of our chosen charity. We would be really grateful if you could help us to raise our target – every donation helps to make a difference to those children, and their families who are unfortunate to have to live with this condition.
