Hello and thanks for visiting my page.
On Sunday 8th July 2012 I will be running the British 10k in London to raise funds for the Legal Action Group; facilitated by the London Legal Support Trust.
LLST are a charity that raise funds for and support free legal advice charities such as Law Centres and other advice agencies that help people who can't afford legal help or access a lawyer. (www.londonlegalsupporttrust.org.uk)
Some of the most vulnerable people in our communities, of all ages and circumstances, simply cannot access justice without specialist legal assistance. These agencies help people in desperate situations with problems including housing issues, debt, provision of care and other key areas of "social welfare law". They really do make a huge difference.
Sadly, due to cuts in legal aid fees, local authority spending cuts and rising costs, free advice agencies have been closing at a rate of one per month since early summer 2011.
The money I am trying to raise will help keep the agencies operating and try to ensure their services are as effective as possible.
Every bit makes a difference so please give what you can.
