Michelle Henderson Cervical Cancer Trust
Michelle Henderson Cervical Cancer Trust was the vision of Scottish football legend Willie Henderson’s daughter Michelle. Michelle Henderson was diagnosed with cervical cancer in October 2010 and bravely fought the disease for 2 years before sadly passing away on 1st October 2012 (her 28th birthday). A remarkable lady, Michelle set up the Trust to give back to those who had helped her during her treatment, she also wanted to raise awareness of the condition and in turn raise funds towards hospital equipment, medicines and support groups for women suffering from the illness. Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer amongst women aged 35 and under in the UK. Three women die every day in the UK from cervical cancer and in each year around 2,800 are newly diagnosed with the disease. In addition some 300,000 women a year are told they may have a cervical abnormality that might require treatment. Michelle Henderson Cervical Cancer Trust is run by unpaid volunteers, receives no Government funding and exists solely by the kind support of the community. You can help us to raise funds by using this online giving tool provided by Virgin Money Giving. To set up your own fundraising page for your event all you need to do is follow the Start Fundraising links. Michelle Henderson Cervical Cancer Trust is a new Scottish charity and with your help and support we can make a difference in the lives of women and families affected by Cervical Cancer.

Together For Michelle's fundraising page

Denis Griffin,

My page:

Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

I am part of the "Together for Michelle" team of volunteers attempting to trek 100 miles across the Namib Desert in Namibia to raise funds and awareness for the Michelle Henderson Cervical Cancer Trust.

This trek is being led by Willie Henderson, coordinated by Denis Griffin and run by Sandbaggers, a company with a wealth of experience in these type of treks.

All cash raised through this page goes directly to the Trust whose aim is to raise awareness of cervical cancer and to locally fund and supply essential equipment required to treat those suffering from cervical cancer.

Michelle Henderson Cervical Cancer Trust is run by unpaid volunteers, receives no government funding and exists solely by the support of the community. With your support and help we can make a difference in the lives of women and families affected by Cervical Cancer.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to our Trust. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid the charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations. X
