Toilet Twinning
Toilet Twinning is a unique way to help transform lives in poor communities across the world. By twinning your toilet, you can link your loo with a latrine in Africa, Asia or the Americas. You'll receive a framed certificate complete with a photo of your toilet twin, its location and its GPS coordinates so you can look it up on Google Maps. International NGO Tearfund will use the money raised through Toilet Twinning to help households in poor communities to learn about the importance of sanitation and hygiene; have their own loo; access clean water; enjoy better health; go to school and work; and ultimately break the cycle of generational poverty.
Only 71 days to go!

We’re a group of people in Eastbourne and the surrounding areas who want you to join us and help flush away poverty. Yes, we’re talking toilets. Every minute, a child under the age of five dies because of dirty water and poor sanitation. Together, we can help save some of those kids. How can we do that? It’s called Toilet Twinning.

If you can afford £60 please head over to toilettwinning.org and twin your loo. But if £60 is a bit too much at the moment, why not donate what you can here and we'll combine our efforts to twin as many of Eastbourne's public toilets as we can. We'll post pictures on our facebook page each time we twin one of the town's loos. Our facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/tteastbourne

A third of the people in the world don’t have a loo. They have to go anywhere they can, which can mean in fields, rivers and streams, in the streets or in buckets at home that breed diseases. Eastbourne, on the other hand, can probably claim to have more toilets per head than anywhere else in Britain. We’ve got all the toilets in all the hotel rooms along the seafront as well as all the bed and breakfast rooms in town, plus many relatively large houses and apartment blocks, all with lovely places to sit and read the paper or play on your phone whilst being about your business. So we want to ask you if you’ll be part of this brilliant idea that saves lives. Toilet Twinning.

For £60 we can twin a loo with a new one, built in a household in a community that needs it, desperately. For £240 we can twin a loo with a toilet block in a school or a camp for displaced people. There'll be a framed certificate with a picture to hang in the twinned toilet in Eastbourne, plus the GPS coordinates of its new twin so you can search online and see exactly where it is in the world. Our aim is to get a thousand of Eastbourne’s splendid toilets twinned in 2017, potentially saving many thousands of men, women and children from sickness and death.

Please give what you can.

If you decide to twin a whole toilet or block of toilets at toilettwinning.org  please let us know on our facebook page or by emailing info@toilettwinningeastbourne.online so that we can keep count of how many Eastbourne loos get twinned in 2017. Thanks.
