The NSPCC's purpose is to end cruelty to children. Our vision is of a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. We seek to achieve cultural, social and political change - influencing legislation, policy, practice, attitudes and behaviours and delivering services for the benefit of all children and young people across the UK and Channel Islands. In September 2008, the NSPCC launched its Child's Voice Appeal to answer more children's cries for help. Every day, thousands of children and young people need to talk to ChildLine about a problem they face, while hundreds of caring adults call the NSPCC Helpline, worried about a child's safety. With the help of people like you, ChildLine and the NSPCC Helpline are already there for thousands of children and young people, but many more need our help. We rely on the generosity of the general public to continue our work.

Tom Laws must be mad!
Dear all,
I completed the London Marathon in 5 hours 23 minutes. It was a very hot day and a gruelling run, but I kept smiling and was delighted to finish.
I'm even more delighted at how amazing you sponsors have been, donating £2600 to date, brilliant!
As I sit here with very sore legs, I remember a sign in the crowd 'Pain is temporary, pride is for life'
