Virgin London Marathon 2010

Hi!!
Thank you for coming to my page!!
For people who DON'T know me or perhaps even for those who do but not very well, I am 33 years old (34 when I do the run) and began running seriously in October 2008. I am a member of Bournville Harriers-a great running club based in Birmingham, U.K and I run with them every Monday night.
I entered, on a whim, my first ever half marathon in September 2009 and practiced very hard, training with the club on a Monday night and by myself on various nights throughout the week. I ran the Birmingham Half Marathon the next month (October 11th) and achieved 13.1 miles in 1 hr 55 mins and 09 sec. A great achievement I feel! The public support and encouragement and the high level buzz I felt running alongside 13,000 other people was so exhilarating that I ran most of it on a complete high! Having got the bug for this running lark, I decided I wanted to do the London Marathon. I have always wanted to do this and finally plucked up the courage to enter and contacted St. Basil's (information below) to run for them. I am now in preparation and training for my first marathon next year.
As you will know (HOPEFULLY), I am running the Virgin London Marathon for the FIRST time in April 2010!! The charity that has given me the place to do this is St. Basil's-a VERY worthy cause. This is a charity who provides advice, accomodation and support to homeless young people. They enable young people to find work, find housing solutions and access new skills and work. See the information and the link below to learn more about the work St. Basil's does. My aim is £2,000 but would love to break through this!!
Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to St. Basil's.
Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid for St. Basil's, where the donor is eligible for this.
I REALLY DO appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
I shall keep you all updated regularly about my training, runs and how the money is going!
