Hi, thanks for visiting my page!

Just a quick update to the Xmas Cycle Ride that was scheduled for today.  As it turned out, Santa (me) had a little helper (Norman Lynch) and together we set off just after 10.00am (10.11am Wimborne time ...).  We set a steady pace and headed off for Cranborne, our first stop, in pleasant conditions considering the rain of the day previous.  We were greeted all along the route by people waving, car drivers tooting their horns, and generally lots of happy smiling faces.  I must wear a Santa suit all year!

We finished our ride back at Wimborne at 1.02pm, a time of 2hrs and 51 mins.  I'm reliably informed by Joan that the winner of the sweep for guessing the closest time was Sylvie Mitchell, with Alan Hart a close second.

Thank you to everyone for their support and donations, but especially to Joan and Diann of the Friends for encouraging me to do the ride, for seeing us off and for the sherry and mince pies at Ferndown!  Thanks to Norman for his company on the way, and of course to my wonderful Sharon who not only found me a Santa suit but decorated my bike and hat in tinsel, mistletoe and fairy lights!!  You are all wonderful.

Photos to follow, when I have chance to upload ..........

07.12.11 Good luck Tony! By the time you stop for a mince pie and a glass of sherry at each place I guestimate it will take 3 hrs 2 mins 1 sec for the complete trip.
