I'm running the London Marathon for Virunga

Fundraiser:
Emmanuel de Merode

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/VirungaMarathon

This year, I will be running the Virgin Money London Marathon raising money for Virunga National Park. We are aiming to raise an ambitious $1 million to help secure the future of the park. We are already halfway there, thanks to the generous support from The World We Want Foundation to match every donation you make.
This marathon appeal is dedicated to the rangers of Virunga. Their continued commitment to the park in the face of ongoing dangers inspires me every day. The funds we raise in this campaign will be used to start an endowment fund for Virunga, which means that your money will continue to support the park’s rangers for many years to come after you donate.
There has never been a moment where your donation could make quite as much of an impact on the future of the park - every donation you give will keep helping Virunga for years to come.

Just three years ago I was left fighting for my life when I was ambushed and shot in an assassination attempt. I was extremely fortunate to have survived, and to be able to resume my work for Virunga. The incident could have ended very differently, and many of Virunga's rangers have not been so lucky.
