Sue Ryder
Sue Ryder is a charity providing health and social care to people living with long-term, palliative and end of life needs. We deliver our services in peoples homes, in the community and through our hospices and care centres across the UK. We support people, their families and friends affected by conditions including cancer, stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, dementia, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease and motor neurone disease. Each year we provide 4 million hours of care, make 1.4 million home visits to people in need and deliver 100,000 days of long-term residential care. we are one of the largest providers of specialist palliative and end of life care in the UK. Our work goes beyond the UK. Sue Ryder also supports the delivery of specialised health and social care across Europe and in Southern Africa.

Allison Wear, the manager of Acorn's Shipley factory, and three of her team plus Dave Belmont, a Shipley lad from Head Office, make up the Acorn Stairlifts Shipley team.

We are trying to raise as much money as possible for Sue Ryder's local Manorlands hospice by taking part in their Big 10K walk/run (in our case walk) on 18 March. Being a competitive bunch, our aim is to raise more money than any other Acorn team.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
