Farm Africa
Farm Africa is a different kind of charity working to end hunger and bring prosperity to rural Africa. For too long, Africa has struggled with the problems of hunger and poverty. Again and again, images of famine have challenged the world to end this human tragedy, but still it happens. Today, with climate change to deal with too, the need is more urgent than ever. Farm Africa is helping Africa’s farmers to end this cycle of despair. We’re there, on the ground, ensuring farmers have the equipment and know how to manage their land more effectively. Working shoulder-to-shoulder with farmers, we help the best farming techniques take root and spread so there’s food not just for this harvest, but for every harvest. We bridge communities, governments and businesses so that farmers can not only grow food but also sell it too, so that African farmers can take charge of their future and build better lives.

Fundraising for Farm Africa

Fundraisers:
Philip Young and Paul Brace

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/africarecordrun2013

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page... we need your help.

In February Paul Brace and I are attempting to drive 10,000 miles in ten days from Cape Town to London. Most friends think we’re nuts, a few think we’re lucky and maybe, just maybe, we can grab a new world record but with your support we can certainly achieve something beneficial along the way.

Farm Africa does a fantastic job in the best possible way, by helping local farmers to help themselves, but it all takes money.

by donating as many miles as you can. It will certainly make the distance seem easier when we’re tired and irritable, but much more importantly, it can make a real difference for many African communities.

Wish us well and thank you for your support.

£30 could provide a goat and training for a family in eastern Africa. This can provide milk to be drunk or sold to help pay for family essentials such as medicine and schoolbooks. Plus, the goat's manure is a great fertiliser for family crops.

£65 can pay for a tree nursery for a school in Tanzania. This nursery will help schoolchildren learn practical new farming skills, building upon a prosperous agricultural future for eastern Africa.

£120 could provide an African family with a camel, providing nutritious milk for the family to drink and sell.

£200 could provide a community with a drip irrigation system, keeping their crops watered so that they can survive the drought.

£300 could equip a farmer to provide basic animal healthcare in their community, caring for the animals when they are sick and vaccinating them against disease.

£800 could provide four communities with oxen and ploughs, so they can cultivate more land to crow crops
