The INCTR Challenge Fund
The INCTR Challenge Fund (1079181) raises fund to support International Network for Cancer Treatment and Research (INCTR)'s cancer programmes in developing countries. Currently, the money raised is used to buy chemotherapy drugs and anti-bacteria drugs for children with Burkitt Lymphoma in Mwanza Hospital and in Muhimbili Hospital in Tanzania, and to provide palliative care and pain relief treatment training to local nurses and doctors in Nepal. £150 can provide sufficient treatment for a Burkitt Lymphoma child whilst as little as £25 can help relieve the pain for a dying cancer Nepalese patient through his/her life. Sponsored doctors also provide trainings to local doctors and nurses as well as help local medical professionals raise public awareness of cancer in local regions in order to increase early detection rates and to increase patents' survival chances. Please help us build capacity for cancer control in developing countries. Every single pound will help us save lives. My page:

On Sunday 14th September I’m undertaking a challenge I never thought I would do…I’m running a 10k.

I don’t think there is anyone who hates running more than me, so the fact that I’m running further than I would for a bus, is a small miracle.

I’m absolutely dreading it.

The only thing that will keep me going is that I’m taking part in memory of my lovely big brother Chris, who passed away in 2006 to Burkitt Lymphoma, a form of non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. He was just 26.

Since his death, my family and our wonderful friends have together raised £86,000. This money has been used by the INCTR Challenge Fund to buy chemotherapy drugs for children and young adults in Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda where Burkitt Lymphoma is endemic.

If caught early, BL is highly curable. It costs just $200 to treat and potentially cure a child of this dreadful disease.

I appreciate you must receive many sponsorship requests like this, but if you are able to consider just a small donation, I would be so incredibly grateful. It really will make a huge difference.

Thanks ever so much,

Ali x
