Asthma UK is the only charity dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the 5.4 million people in the UK whose lives are affected by asthma. We fund vital research, health information materials and essential services for people with asthma, including the Asthma UK Adviceline and Kick Asthma holidays for children with asthma.
The British Heart Foundation is the nation's heart charity. Every day they save lives, through pioneering research, providing vital information to help people reduce their own heart health risks, campaigning for change and supporting and caring for heart patients. Charity Registration No 225971

Last year I foolishly set out on one of the toughest rides in the South of England. I will confess I'd underestimated and underprepared for a 113 mile ride on one of the hottest days of the year, and ran out of time to complete the course.
I was humbled by people’s support, and the level of sponsorship I received and in the light of last year’s failure, I have decided to go one better this year (and with a significantly greater level of preparation and hard graft!)
I'm planning on doing three rides, and sadly the way the calendar works I have the hardest first, but that's not to say the other two are easy! Having trained for a number of months, and with two and half months until I finish the last event, this is what I aim to achieve:
King of the Downs (2nd June 2013): 115 miles, over 9,000 feet ascent
London to Brighton (16th June 2013): 53 miles, over 2,000 feet total ascent
Boris's London 100 (4nd August 2013): 100 miles, ascent unknown
