Charities
We're a Branch of Samaritans like any other, except that we don't have a building and we don't have a telephone! Instead, we go to events throughout Britain and provide a 24 hour Samaritan service. The events are predominantly out-door music festivals like Glastonbury or Reading, but also various biker, dance, surf, multicultural, lesbian/gay, homeless events, and others. If you're at an event and feel you need to talk something through with a non-judgmental person, in complete confidence, please come by and see us. If it's an outdoor event we will often be standing outside a large tent with a big green SAMARITANS banner. We are a registered charity based in the UK and Republic of Ireland that provides confidential emotional support to any person who is suicidal or despairing; and increases public awareness of issues around suicide and depression.
The British Heart Foundation is the nation's heart charity. Every day they save lives, through pioneering research, providing vital information to help people reduce their own heart health risks, campaigning for change and supporting and caring for heart patients. Charity Registration No 225971

Tanner's marathon schoolgirl style
Hi everyone!
Insanity has got the better of me and I am running my 2nd London Marathon this year! Not only that, to add to the challenge I am doing it in fancy dress! In attempt to break a Guinness World record I will be completing the course dressed as a school girl! My target time is an optimistic 3 hours 15 mins. After last years 3.29 which involved walking in hobbling in parts I know this is going to hurt and last time I couldn't walk without pain until two weeks after!
This year I have decided to run for charity and am splitting any donations between Festival Samaritans who I work for (and who have been struggling this season with low funds). Working for festival branch involves going to events and talking to festival goers about what Samaritans do as well as offering emotional support to anyone who may need it. It is hard work with shifts 24/7 at most events and this invaluable service will be lost at many festivals without the support of donations.
Secondly I have chosen the British Heart Foundation for the continuing work they do for heart health and research and support for those coping with heart problems. My step father Den had a heart attack a couple of years ago and this has brought home the important work they do.
Please please donate if you can, I know you get bombarded by requests around marathon time but if you can spare even £1 my charities and I would be very grateful :)
Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
UPDATE: I will be running (and boiling) in the full outfit in the pics...
Thankyoooooooooou, love Amy x
