Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

This year I'm raising money for AgeUK in Leeds; they do a lot of incredible work supporting older people who for whatever reason need a bit of help from time to time.

For the record, I've paid my own entry into the Dash; your donation goes straight to AgeUK and not towards a subsidised place.

[boilerplate stuff below]

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

(this is the email I sent to my sponsors)

Excelsior to you, all my lovely, lovely sponsors.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sponsoring me to take part in the Abbey Dash this year. The money raised is going specifically to Age UK here in Leeds and will be used for all sorts of things, from phoning people by themselves to make sure they're ok to helping sort out complex housing and support issues.

Some of you know I've had a bit of a foot injury over the last few weeks and it was touch & go whether I'd actually make it out. Fortunately I was able to do it and so didn't need to send out the "erm, I'm sorry but..." email that I just couldn't work out how to write. Anyway, I did the Dash in a PB for the course (the weather meant it wasn't a PB for 10k) so I'm pretty happy about that.

I can't thank you enough for your support and (of course) the money you've given. It's going to a great home where it will be used well.

Best wishes, and thanks again.

Mike.
