We exist to help improve the lives of people affected by cancer, both those living with cancer and also their families and carers. Our primary focus is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer.
Scleroderma is a disease that can damage the skin and internal organs through scarring and poor blood supply. People with scleroderma live with constant anxiety about their future, not knowing how far or how fast the disease will progress. The Scleroderma Society supports people with this disease and funds vital research into this rare and complex condition
Every hour, someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson's. Because we're here, no one has to face Parkinson's alone. We bring people with Parkinson's, their carers and families together via our network of local groups, our website and free confidential helpline. Specialist nurses, our supporters and staff provide information on every aspect of Parkinson's. As the UK's Parkinson's support and research charity we're leading the work to find a cure, and we're closer than ever. We also campaign to change attitudes and demand better services. Our work is totally dependant on donations. Help us to find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson's.
Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity. As research experts, we specialise in funding world-class, pioneering research at leading universities to find preventions, treatments and a cure for dementia. We believe science and innovation hold the key to defeating dementia and invest in the scientists learning more about the condition and its causes. Our findings improve the lives of everyone affected by dementia now and in the future. We forge partnerships with Government and other key organisations to make dementia research a national priority. We encourage everyone to join us in supporting research and achieving a world free from dementia.
We're the world's independent children's charity. We're outraged that millions of children are still denied proper healthcare, food, education and protection. We're working flat out to get every child their rights and we're determined to make further, faster changes. How many? How fast? It's up to you.

Cardiff to Istanbul by bicycle
Hi, on the 17th of August I begin my cycle ride from Cardiff to Istanbul following parts of the Eurovelo 6 cycle route.
The route runs from Cardiff to Weymouth, across the channel to Saint-Malo then continues down to Nantes where it then follows the mouth of the Loire, along the river eastward through France on to Lake Constance in Switzerland and then down the Danube through Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, where it passes the UNESCO Heritage site Srebarna Nature Reserve then into Romania to the UNESCO Heritage site of the Danube Delta, onto Constanta, on the Black Sea then down to Istanbul.
