Bethany Christian Trust
Named Scottish Charity of the Year in 2009 in recognition of its work meeting the needs of 4,000 homeless and vulnerable people across Scotland, Bethany’s wide range of services offers people support to overcome homelessness problems, from street-level through to community resettlement. Bethany’s unique approach gives people time to work through their problems and supports them as they tackle long-term issues so they can move on and become active members of their community. Services include emergency accommodation, housing support, addiction support, home furnishings, skills-development and learning support, community resettlement, volunteering and placements. Bethany transforms lives and revitalises communities through partnering with individuals, churches, communities and local authorities in Edinburgh, West Lothian, Dumfries, Fife, Aberdeen and Inverness. Motivated by its vision of reducing homelessness through Christian love in action, Bethany gives assistance to all, regardless of their background or belief.

Hi, thanks for visiting our page.

Some of BCC's residents and staff will be climbing Ben Nevis on September 4th 2010.

Bethany Christian Centre is a supportive working community for men aged 17-70. We work with those who have found themselves in need of support to resettle back into a stable, drug and alcohol free environment. Men are given support with addiction issues, budgeting, legal matters, health issues, family relationships, housing applications, benefit claims, contact with counselling services and other agencies, etc. The men learn to work and serve each other as they participate in community meetings, cooking, cleaning, group activities and house holidays. With the help of the Training Section men have education and voluntary work placements within Bethany or further afield.

They guys want to raise as much money as they can for The Care Shelter.

The Care Shelter provides emergency accommodation in church halls around Edinburgh each night, from the start of November until the end of March. This service provides food, shelter and support for men and women over the age of 16 who cannot access other accommodation.

Some of our guys have used this service in the past and are keen to put something back into this vital service which is fantastic!!!!!!!!

This was their idea, they're organising it with our help and are doing an excellent job with their preperations.

We are still trying to aquire appropriate clothing, boots etc. If this is something you think you could help with then please contact David Biddulph on 0131-554 4071

Thanks again

Dave
